Clean Up Sticky Residue

Heat the oven to 350 degrees f.

Clean up sticky residue.

Use a clean section of the cloth each time. If silicone pieces are really sticky and washing doesn t seem to be cleaning them easily you can use the oven to help speed up the process. Wipe off solid surfaces with a paper towel. Soak part of a clean cloth or paper towel in rubbing alcohol.

If this method doesn t remove the sticky buildup completely move on to a product made specifically for cleaning wood. To get rid of sticker residue on clothing made of synthetics place the item in the freezer for 45 to 90 minutes. Once all the rubber has been removed you should end up with just the bare plastic that the rubber was adhered to. Removing adhesive residue from fabric and clothes requires a gentle touch to avoid damage.

Keep re applying on the rubber and rubbing with a cloth. Once it gets sticky and starts to cure the paper towel will stick to the resin. Clean the surface with a solvent like denatured alcohol or acetone. Either way try cleaning sticky plastic using one of several simple methods that only require common household ingredients like baking soda isopropyl alcohol water and mild dish detergent.

Many commercial stain removers can work wonders so try soaking the area thoroughly letting it sit and then laundering on a gentle cycle. Wash and dry the item as you would normally. You can go in. Give it a final wipe with a clean cloth and you re done.

Scratch away the residue with your fingers or something plastic after you let it soak. If the residue remains try spot cleaning with detergent applied directly to the residue. Dissolve the residue with rubbing alcohol vodka or vinegar.
